Description
Sound-absorbing panes are thicker and heavier than standard glass. The higher weight results in better soundproofing.
Such panes are made of ordinary, tempered or laminated glass (at least two panes of glass connected by PVB foil). In practically every window, one pane should be 50% thicker than the other at least – sounds of different frequencies will be effectively suppressed.
What is more, sound-absorbing panes are more robust and durable than other types of glass. As the sound-absorbing panes consist of an inner PVB interlayer, they do not break easily. The fact that such glass is sturdier and tougher, makes it difficult for intruders, thieves or burglars to gain access to your home. Besides, installing laminated soundproof glass in windows and doors blocks harmful effects of UV rays.
